Kevin P. Whiteford is a successful litigator representing commercial equipment lessors, Fortune 50 commercial lenders, and small businesses in commercial litigation, collection matters, business litigation, and creditor bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Whiteford has taught at the University of California at Davis, University Extension in Sacramento, California, and at numerous continuing legal education courses on topics ranging from the mechanics of basic commercial litigation and judgment enforcement, to complex fraudulent conveyance, successor liability, and civil writ strategies and procedures.
Mr. Whiteford received his bachelor's degree from the University of California at Davis, and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Santa Clara. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1989, and practiced in the areas of civil litigation and real estate with the Sacramento firm of Burger & Flaherty until that firm split in 1992. Thereafter, Mr. Whiteford continued his practice in the same areas of law with Flaherty & Serlin before joining Karen Leder in 1997 to form Leder & Whiteford, LLP. In 2002, Mr. Whiteford teamed up with Mark Serlin to form Serlin & Whiteford, LLP, a premiere boutique creditors' rights and collections law firm practicing throughout California. After a 20+ year successful partnership, Mark Serlin retired in January 2023. Thereafter, Mr. Whiteford merged his practice with Young & Lazzarini, to form LW&Y.
